Over the past year the Dark Til Dawn Records label has become a major force to be reckoned with within the jungle and drum & bass movement, due to it's steadfast pursuit in releasing the most innovative music energising breakbeat music into the digital sphere. Now Dark Til Dawn Records are proud to present their very first venture onto wax with pre-orders for the forthcoming 'NY SkyKore / Msymiakos & Terry Sun / Krave / Sparki Dee' EP being made available today via the Indiegogo crowdfunding website.
NY SkyKore kicks things with 'Phase II', a rolling fusion of uplifting drum and bass brimming with future-utopian positivity with it's blend of expertly crafted breakbeat layers and soaring pads. Things take a turn for the darker with Msymiakos & Terry Sun's tearing amen-fest, 'Blue Honey' which has the listener pummelled by a series of thundering, chopped up breaks and harsh mentasm stabs.
Krave channels the spirit of 1994 jungle with his Summertime vibed 'Untitled Track', with it's exhilarating blend of rapid-fire amen choppage and gentle flute melodies coupled with booming subsonic bass blasts. The Strictly NuSkool Blog's very own Sparki Dee bookends the EP with the bassbin shaking 'Enemy Lines', which ticks all the criteria needed for replicating that authentic, "oldskool jungle" sound (air raid sirens, Reese/Dread bass, FBD Project reverses!) and adds a nuskool update on the classic amen break pattern.
